We are celebrating our New Mexico culture. A New Mexico fall is full of beautiful colors, weather, smells and sky. Our preschool playground is the perfect place for the children to appreciate all the joys of the season. This year it has been ideal to implement inspired forestry pedagogy and enjoy outdoor curriculum and nature experiences. And this week we especially love seeing the hot air balloons in the sky!
We have some exciting events that we want to let you know about. We have always loved the sense of community and fellowship that we have at our preschool. Since we cannot have our Ice Cream Social this year we are having our FIRST EVER CEREAL and SLIDE SHOW ZOOM PARTY on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17th at 10:00! We will show you our school inside now that the children have made it special with their art and treasures. We will eat our cereal together and tell you about our curriculum goals and answer any questions you may have. And we will present our slide show so you can see your children in action! It will be a delightful time where we can all be together! We will send invitations home with the children and send you a Zoom invite next week.
We are happy to tell you that we are planning a modified yet super fun Halloween Party on Thursday, October 29TH. We will be Cowboys and Cowgirls! We will be providing and making the costumes with the children. Bears and Ponies will each have fun games and activities. We will not give out prizes for the games we play. Each child will get a small bag of treats at the end of the day. This celebration is perfect to further explore our New Mexico history.
Family Conferences are scheduled for Monday, November 9th for Bear families and Tuesday, November 10th for Pony families. Families will have the choice to have their conference outside (or in church space if weather is not good) or by Zoom. As you know every aspect of our preschool year needs to be rethought out and modified. We are working out the details and will keep you informed. All COVID safety guidelines will be enforced.
We want to remind you that the two questionnaires, the ASQ-3 and ASQ Social Emotional are due by October 15th. Don’t forget this Thursday, October 8th, is our Fall Break and there will be no school. There is no school November 3, Election Day. Please make sure there are warm clothes for your child’s cubbie as the weather gets cooler. We will return the current clothes to you. LABEL coats and all belongings! Enjoy all the colors, smells and balloons of New Mexico!
